Jeff Kinney grew up in Maryland where he also attended the University of Maryland. It was there where Kinney started a comic strip called Igdoof for the school paper. He now resides in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons. In 2009, Kinney became known as one of Time magazine's 100 "Most Influential People" of the world.
Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid books have become so popular that they have been developed into movies. The three that have been made so far include; Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. Kinney also has a new book coming out in November of 2012, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel.
